What is the Weekly Insurance Add-on?

The Weekly Insurance Add-on is an optional upgrade available with any Mevo Weekly Plan. It provides enhanced coverage for all your Mevo trips within the week, not just those covered by your credit.

This means:

  • You don’t need to select extra insurance every time you reserve a car.

  • You’re automatically covered across all trips that week, even if you go beyond your included weekly credit.

Do I have to add Weekly Insurance each time I drive?

Nope! Once you're on a Weekly Plan and purchased the insurance add-on, it is automatically marked in our system. You do not need to select additional insurance when booking a car.

💡 If you do manually add extra insurance during booking, you may be charged unnecessarily. Just leave it on “Standard”—your Weekly Plan already has you covered.


How much does Enhanced Cover help me?

Here’s a real-world example:

Scenario: You park legally, return to find the bumper damaged.
Repair cost: $1,552
With Enhanced Cover: You pay only $500
Without Enhanced Cover (Standard Cover): You would have paid $1,552

That’s over $1000 of saving from being on the Weekly Plan with Enhanced Cover.


Can I get Total Cover ($0 excess)?

Yes, for $35/week extra, you can upgrade from Enhanced to Total Cover. This reduces your excess to $0 for all trips in that week.


Are there any exclusions?

Yes. Even with Enhanced or Total Cover, you must drive responsibly.

🚫 If you are found to have breached Mevo’s terms (e.g., excessive speeding, reckless driving, illegal activity), your insurance excess may no longer apply.

In these cases, Mevo may pursue the full cost of damage, even if you paid for Total Cover.


Can I lose access to Weekly Insurance Add-ons?

Yes. If you repeatedly cause damage or make frequent insurance claims, you may become ineligible for Enhanced or Total Cover going forward.


How can I check that my add-on has been applied to my account?

To confirm your insurance add-on is active:
Go to Menu > Support Chat in the app - your current insurance selection will be displayed there.
