Set Up

Before you drive, make sure you're comfortable and familiar with the key controls 🎚

The Polestar is designed to be driven with one pedal. Tap the 🚘 icon at the top of the infotainment screen to access the drive settings. We recommend a standard driving profile with Creep off. Learn more about One Pedal Drive.

  • Adjust your seat with the buttons on the side of the seat.

  • Indicators are on the left of the steering wheel.

  • Adjust your mirrors by using tapping L or R on the side of the door and then using the joy stick.
    💡 If you’re driving or parking in a tight space, you can set the side mirrors to automatically fold in. Press the L and R buttons at the same time and release after about one second. 💡

  • Access climate control settings by swiping up from the bottom of the infotainment screen ⬇️

Apps & Bluetooth Connect

Apps are accessed by by tapping the four squares at the top of the infotainment screen. Select Bluetooth to connect your device.


The Polestar turns on automatically when you sit in the driver's seat.

To start: press and hold the brake pedal, select D or R, start driving

To stop: ensure the car is stationary, the parking brake will apply when you open the driver's door, the car will turn off when you leave the vehicle.

Parking on a hill: apply the parking Brake before leaving the vehicle to prevent it from moving ⬇️

EV Charging

Instructions for EV charging live in your Mevo app. Swipe up on the vehicle card and select Recharge to find a charging station near you 🔌. Charging costs are included in our Vehicle Pricing.

Your Mevo app will display charging status, percentage and range estimates. Learn more about average charging times for the Polestar 2.

Please be courteous of other EV users while using charging stations.

How much does the Polestar 2 cost?
$30/hr or $150/day. Charging costs are included. Check our pricing page for more pricing info.

What is the driving range of the Polestar 2?
The Polestar has around 400km of range when fully charged. Range estimates based on current battery level are visible in the Mevo app for all available EV vehicles.

What type of charger does the Polestar 2 use?
Type 2 CCS (Combined Charging System) fast charging, and Type 2 destination charging. This is the most widely available EV connector in NZ.

Do I need to recharge before I end trip?
No, there is no requirement to recharge while on trip. However, we do recommend that the battery not be drained below 10%. Please let us know if the battery level drops below 10%.

What if my vehicle has low charge when I start my trip?
All vehicles visible in-app are required to have at least 20% fuel or EV battery. 20% charge in the Polestar 2 will be more than enough for most Mevo Trips.

I am planning a long trip. How do I find a vehicle with over 50% charge?
If you do find yourself wanting to go on a long trip, hit the 🚘 icon in-app (top right corner) and select your fuel % threshold, i.e. 50%). You'll only see vehicles with the threshold % or higher.

Does the Polestar 2 come with a portable charger?

Not a the moment. This is something we're working on for longer trips. Stay tuned for more.

Will I still be charged for trip costs while I am recharging?
Yes, you will be charged for trip costs while recharging a vehicle. The reason is that soon as you unlock your Mevo to start a trip, this vehicle will be only accessible to your account and not be available for anyone else's. Billing will stop when you return the vehicle to an approved parking zone and end trip.

The infotainment screen is asking for a PIN. What do I do?
Hit "Log Out" twice when on the log in screen to return to the general infotainment display.

When is the Polestar 2 coming to Auckland?
The Polestar 2 will start popping up in Auckland in the coming weeks.
