Everything you need to know about charging your Mevo in and around Queenstown.
All RYD EV rentals come with a RED charging RFID Tag (found in the centre console) for you to charge at BP and ChargeNet stations across New Zealand - for FREE.
Finding and using the in car RFID tag
Your Mevo carries a red RFID tag that gives you access to the charging networks. It is usually in one of these places.
Centre console: the storage compartments between the front seats.
Glove box.
Boot: some vehicles carry a spare tag near the spare tyre or under the boot floor.
If you cannot find the tag, contact Mevo support and we will help.
To use it
Find a compatible charging station, for example ChargeNet or BP Connect.
Follow the instructions on the station's screen.
Tap the red RFID tag on the reader when prompted to start charging.
Just plug the car in, tap the RED RFID tag on the charger to begin charging. No need to download another app, no need to pay. Charging is FREE.
If charging goes wrong
If you have trouble charging or are running low on battery, use the chat on the Mevo Website contact Mevo support and we will sort it out with you.
PETROL Mevo Rentals do NOT require charging. Re-fuel at a petrol station with 91 (Green handle) petrol.

Charging at your hotel
Some Queenstown hotels now offer EV charging. Check with your hotel before you arrive to confirm availability and whether they charge for it. If they have it, overnight charging at the hotel is usually the easiest option.
If your hotel has no charger, Queenstown has a growing network of public charging stations.
Heading to Milford Sound ?
Plan ahead. There is NO EV Charging in Milford Sound
Please ensure your vehicle is charged to at least 80% in Te Anau before heading out.

Plug in your phone via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and say or search:

How Long Does Charging Take?
If you’ve driven under 100km, a 15–20 minute stop at a 50kW charger is usually enough.
