Collecting a Mevo from a Queenstown hotel is simple. Here's what to expect, from pick up to drop off.
1. Find your pick up location
Your booking shows exactly where the car is. It's usually a designated bay at your hotel or a nearby Mevo partner location.
2. Get to the car
Mevo is self service. You unlock and start the car with the app.
Hotel car park: the app pinpoints the bay. You may need a gate code or parking level from reception.
Valet: at some hotels the valet looks after the car. The app will tell you to arrange the handover with them.
3. Check the car before you go
Outside: look for scratches or dents and compare against the condition report in the app. Report anything new straight away.
Inside: check it's clean and tidy.
Charge or fuel: check it matches what the app shows.
RFID tag: electric cars carry a red charging tag, usually in the centre console or glove box.
4. Start your trip
Once your checks are done, unlock and start the car in the app and follow the prompts.
5. Return the car
Bring it back to the same hotel or hub you collected it from and park in the Mevo bay.
Queenstown cars aren't free floating. A car left on the street or at a different hotel has to be recovered, and recovery costs apply.
Before you walk away:
Leave at least the minimum charge or fuel the app shows
Take your belongings and rubbish with you
End the trip in the app and check the car has locked
Mevo bay taken, or can't get back into the car park?
Start a chat in the app before you leave and we'll tell you what to do.
6. If something isn't right
If you can't find the car, can't unlock it, or have any concern about its condition, chat with us in the app before you drive.
Ryd is now Mevo. The former Ryd fleet in Queenstown is available under the Mevo brand.
