Mevo does accept international/foreign driver licences according to NZTA's list of exempt countries, but it has a few extra requirements :
a full drivers licence
image of passport as additional photo identification uploaded during sign up
standard insurance excess is set at $2500

-Germany
-Greece
-Hong Kong
-Ireland
-Italy
-Japan
-Luxembourg
-Netherlands
-Norway
-Portugal
-South Africa
-South Korea
-Spain
-Sweden
-Switzerland
-United Kingdom
-United States of America
You will not be able to sign up to Mevo if you do not have a valid licence and passport from one of the above countries. Instead, you can apply once you have successfully converted your licence to a full, unrestricted New Zealand licence.
